More than 200 families joined the First United Methodist Church of Gonzales for the annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 8.
The church, 224 W. Constitution, Gonzales, served up hot dogs and nachos, egg hunts, bounce houses, face painting, and crafts and other activities for the whole family. “We enjoyed the beautiful day and being able to serve families from all over Ascension Parish,” said Rebecca Pittman, children’s minister at the church. “I loved watching each kid grin from ear to ear as they ran to get Easter eggs, finished their pinwheel, or saw the face painting on their cheek!”
Eggstravaganza is just one of the ways the church reaches out to the community. It also hosts a vibrant children’s ministry and youth program, end-of-school and back-to-school events, Trunk-or-Treat in the fall, and a Christmas breakfast with Santa. FUMC-Gonzales also houses a food pantry, homework ministries, exercise classes, and other programs. For more information, call (225) 674- 4768.
