GONZALES – St. Amant pitcher Blayne Enlow was one of only 13 players selected to the first team of Baseball America’s Preseason All-American team recently.
An LSU signee, Enlow participated in the COPABE Pan American Games last year for the Team USA 18U National Team after a junior season where he earned district MVP and first-team all-state after registering 93 strikeouts with a 1.54 earned run average in helping the Gators advanced to the quarterfinals.
Last year, 11 of the 13 first-team selection were drafted on the first day of the MLB Draft and notable past All-Americans include Jason Heyward, Justin Bumgarner and Matt Harvey.
Enlow was one of only five pitchers selected to the team from throughout the country. He also helped Gauthier & Amedee advance to the semifinals in the American Legion State Tournament last summer.
