This magnificent front yard belongs to Jim and Susan Kimes at 1031 Eva Street in Gonzales. It was chosen as Gonzales Garden Club’s Residential Yard of the Month for March for its plush design and variations of color and texture. The beds are comprised of agapanthus, azaleas, privet, olive, pomegranate, pear trees and crape myrtle. Owner Susan Kimes noted that the plants bloom in a continual succession from spring though summer into autumn adding interest and beauty to this quiet neighborhood.
Dr. Dale Doty stands in front of River Parishes Community Colleges as the proud recipient of Gonzales Garden Club’s Commercial Landscape of the Month Award for March. The property that was a cow pasture in 2013 is now a sprawling campus of stately buildings, walkways and parking lots lined with spring blooming azaleas and summer blooming crape myrtles.
