Dr. Richard Joseph Caro was man of the hour on Wednesday evening, July 1, as family, friends and local dignitaries showed up at the Caro Clinic to recognize Caro’s achievements as well as his 40 years of practicing independently in the Ascension community.
Since 1975, the Caro Clinic has been seeing patients throughout the area, so it was only fitting that a proclamation in honor of Dr. Caro was presented.
Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux read from the proclamation, highlighting the numerous organizations that Dr. Caro has been and currently is a part of, including the Ascension Parish Medical Society, Southern Medical Society and the Louisiana Medical Society.
Before the proclamation was given, a mix of people known to Caro gathered and told tales about Caro, from his big game hunting trips to his time spent with family.
“Richard has lived quite an extraordinary life,” said Mayor Arceneaux. “We’re honored to have him as a part of our Gonzales community, and always get a kick out the tales he brings back from his many travels. Congratulations to Richard and his supportive family for his many successes.”
