Recently, a young mother was killed during an accident within our parish. On February 4, Ramsey O’Gwynn left behind her three year-old daughter, Sadie, and her friends are coming up with ways to ensure Sadie’s financial security is continued.
On Saturday, March 8, a benefit will take place at the soccer fields on Burnside Avenue in Gonzales. Beginning at noon, Jambalaya provided by Brewbachers will be sold with all proceeds benefiting little Sadie by going directly into a trust fund set up for her. The group organizing the event will also have baked goods for sale. Plates of jambalaya will be $5.
A Go Fund Me page has also been set up to help add to the fund. Anyone wishing to donate is asked to visit http://www.gofundme.com/79y8fk. No amount is too small, as every penny collected will be set aside for a little girl in our community who will need all the help she can get as she comes to terms with her loss.
Ascension is a community that makes us all proud by coming together in times of need. Now is one of those of those times. Let’s show little Sadie just how giving we can be.
